Grand Junction Volleyball Club hosted
the 2007 Western Slope Middle School Championships

The 4-on-4 championship was held on Sunday, October 7th at Mesa State College. Twenty teams from ten different middle school from throughout western Colorado descended upon Mesa State College in Grand Junction to participate in the 3rd Annual 4-on-4 Middle School Championships hosted by the Western Colorado Volleyball Club. Team from Glenwood, Bayfield and throughout the Grand Valley participated in today's tournament. Teams were divided into 7th Grade and 8th Grade Divisions and players had to be from the same school in order to participate.

Messiah Lutheran School (Grand Junction) was crowned the new 7th grade champions after defeating Orchard Mesa Middle School (Grand Junction) in the finals 25-19. Mt. Garfield Middle School (Palisade) finished third and Grand Mesa Middle School (Clifton) finished fourth in the 7th Grade Division.

Bayfield Middle School (east of Durango) were crowned the 8th grade champions after defeating Orchard Mesa Middle School (Grand Junction) in the finals 25-15. Olathe Middle School (Olathe) took third place while Grand Mesa Middle School finish fourth the 8th Grade Division.
